An exploration of the Phlegmatic winter season
About this class
We are delighted to have Elisabeth Brooke lead a 4 part series which will be an exploration of the four seasons of the Traditional Astrological and the Pagan
year.
Part 2 in the series is the Phlegmatic Season.
The Phlegmatic Season, aligned with winter and the Water element, embodies the qualities of coldness and moisture.
In humoral theory, the phlegmatic temperament was thought to arise from an excess of phlegm, linked to lethargy, emotional detachment, and physical sluggishness. Yet, this season also offers restorative qualities, fostering introspection, emotional grounding, and deep connection to the self and others.
Astrologically, the phlegmatic temperament is influenced by the Moon and Venus, emphasizing nurturing, receptivity, and emotional fluidity.
In her talk, Elisabeth will explore these planetary influences alongside the rituals, celebrations, and herbal traditions of winter.
Participants will learn how to embrace the phlegmatic season’s slower pace, harnessing its gentle energy through specific herbs and practices to restore balance and vitality. Through these teachings, you’ll discover how to transform the stillness of winter into a season of renewal and deep emotional nourishment, and learn the rituals and celebrations of the season.
Elisabeth will also be sharing her favourite recipes from each season.
This promises to be another fascinating talk from Elisabeth, educating you across a wide range of topics within the Phlegmatic Season.
The series can be bought as a package or you can buy the individual seasonal talks.
